Welcome! The Antiquarian & Historical Society of Culver is dedicated to the preservation and the presentation of the history of Culver, Lake Maxinkuckee, the Culver Academies, and the surrounding communities. If you have something that would further those goals, we'd be happy to hear from you..
A short bike tour is planned for Saturday, August 14, 2010, to view important historical sites on the Culver Academies property. Society member Jeff Kenney will lead the tour, which will include the Culver Academies Museum & Gift Shop, the Academies campus, Woodcraft Camp, Summer Naval Area and many other iconic buildings and landmarks there. Riders need to bring their own bicycles and helmets.
The museum hallway display cases are currently featuring the Masinkuckee Yacht Club. The MYC which dates back to the late 1800's has had a rewarding impact on so many lake and area residents.
The offices and museum of the Antiquarian and Historical Society of Culver are located on the lower level of the Culver-Union Township Public Library on Main Street in Culver. Hours are Tuesday, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm; and Saturday, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
